Although the concept behind Bumble does not make it the most effective platform for the LGBTQ community, the<a href=\"https:\/\/bumble.com\/en\/the-buzz\/genderidentity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<u>Gender Identity Option<\/u><\/a>\u00a0is a significant feature of inclusivity. \u00a0\ud83e\udd73\ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\ud83c\udf08<\/p><p><a class=\"magnific fr-fic fr-dib lightbox-image-container\" href=\"https:\/\/media1-production-mightynetworks.imgix.net\/asset\/28743245\/giphy.gif?ixlib=rails-0.3.0&amp;auto=format\" data-effect=\"mfp-zoom-in\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"fr-fic fr-dib attachment aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media1-production-mightynetworks.imgix.net\/asset\/28743245\/giphy.gif?ixlib=rails-0.3.0&amp;auto=format&amp;w=1400&amp;h=1400&amp;fit=max&amp;impolicy=ResizeCrop&amp;constraint=downsize&amp;aspect=fit\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" data-asset-id=\"28743245\" data-original-image=\"https:\/\/media1-production-mightynetworks.imgix.net\/asset\/28743245\/giphy.gif?ixlib=rails-0.3.0&amp;auto=format\" \/><\/a><\/p><h3 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Supporting victims of sexual harassment \ud83d\ude23<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">Did you know that\u00a0women are about<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2020\/03\/06\/young-women-often-face-sexual-harassment-online-including-on-dating-sites-and-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<u>twice as likely<\/u><\/a>\u00a0as their male counterparts to be victims of some form of sexual harassment? \ud83d\ude22 Of 224 dating app users, 84% claimed to have experienced assault or harassment after using a dating app or have been matched with a sex offender\/inappropriate person, according to an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cagoldberglaw.com\/dating-app-investigation-propublica-columbia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>investigation<\/u><\/a>\u00a0by ProPublica, while one third has reported a sexual assault to a platform and\u00a0<em>almost half<\/em>\u00a0of those users\u00a0<em>have never heard back<\/em>! \ud83e\udd2c<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">After reported cases of sexual harassment and verbal violence among users, Bumble has decided to<a href=\"https:\/\/wersm.com\/bumble-and-bloom-partner-to-help-support-sexual-assault-survivors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<u>partner up with Bloom<\/u><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a survivor-led nonprofit that creates resources to support the healing of survivors of gender-based violence &#8211; and offer up to six therapy sessions, access to a library of resources by trauma-focused therapists as well as one-to-one chat support. \ud83d\ude07\ud83d\udc4d One could cynically argue the action being simply a marketing strategy move and that Bumble creators could come up with better technology that attempts to prevent harassment from happening at all. \ud83d\ude2c However, it is remarkable that no other competitor has taken action to provide psychological support to the victims yet. \u261d\ufe0f If not enough is done to prevent the phenomenon of sexual harassment, the firms\u2019 reputation might suffer as victims might delete their accounts permanently.<\/p><h2 dir=\"ltr\">ESG risks<\/h2><p dir=\"ltr\">Very little can be found about sustainability efforts and hopefully, more will be disclosed by the end-of-the-year annual report. Nonetheless, a<a href=\"https:\/\/ir.bumble.com\/static-files\/51fd1f5a-9ffc-402a-bedb-cf35308c0af3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<u>Code of Conduct<\/u><\/a>\u00a0with values and principles for doing business with integrity is already in place. \ud83d\udcda<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Environmental factors:\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">The company is already outsourcing most of its data and cloud provision services to companies prioritizing renewable energy, including wind and solar power. Bumble pledges to achieve\u00a0<em>carbon neutrality by 2025<\/em>. \ud83d\udca8\u2600\ufe0f They do so with partnerships with organizations committed to fighting climate change like the nonprofit<a href=\"https:\/\/bumble.com\/en\/the-buzz\/bumble-climate-pledge-net-zero-carbon-footprint-environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<u>Amazon Watch<\/u><\/a>. \ud83e\udd1d<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Social factors:<\/em><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">In the Code of Conduct, the refusal of \u201chuman trafficking, slavery, child labor, etc.\u201d as well as \u201cproviding proper working conditions, hours, and compensation to all Bumble employees\u201d are mentioned.
